Text message program

The texts we send, and how you said yes.

When you book a hotel room over the phone with a front desk run by Cilicia, the confirmation and a secure payment link reach you by text. This page describes that program in full: who sends the messages, the exact sentence you hear before the first one, every message you can receive, how often, what it costs, and how to stop.

What this program is

Cilicia hotel reservation texts are sent by Hanium LLC (“Hanium”) on behalf of the hotel you called. Cilicia is a service of Hanium LLC: Cilicia runs the hotel’s phone front desk, and when you call the hotel’s reservation line and book a room over the phone, the confirmation and the payment link reach you by text.

  • Sender: Hanium LLC, from a United States phone number registered to it for this purpose. Every text starts with the hotel’s name, followed by “(via Cilicia)”.
  • Recipients: only guests who booked a room on a call and said yes to the texts at their own number.
  • Purpose: customer care for that reservation — the confirmation, the secure payment link, a payment reminder, and a paid or released notice. Nothing else.
  • Never marketing, promotions, surveys or offers. Nobody is added from a website form, a keyword, a purchased list or a partner.

03

Every message you can receive

Four messages exist, all about the reservation you made. Square brackets stand for the details of your own booking.

MessageText
Confirmation[Hotel name] (via Cilicia): Your reservation is held — [room type], [arrival date], [nights] nights, total $[amount]. Confirmation [number]. Check-in [time], check-out [time]. Please pay within [minutes] min to keep your room: [secure link] Reply STOP to opt out.
Reminder (at most one)[Hotel name] (via Cilicia): Reminder — reservation [number] ([room type], [nights] nights, $[amount]) is awaiting payment. Your room is held for [minutes] more minutes. Pay here: [secure link]
Paid[Hotel name] (via Cilicia): Your reservation is held — [room type], [arrival date], [nights] nights, total $[amount]. Confirmation [number]. Check-in [time], check-out [time]. Paid — thank you! [secure link]
Released[Hotel name] (via Cilicia): Reservation [number] was cancelled because payment was not received in time. Just call us to rebook — we’d love to welcome you.

The reminder goes out only if the payment link has not been used before the hold runs out, and only once. After the paid or released notice, the program is over for that reservation.

04

How often, and what it costs

Usually two or three messages per reservation — one more only if you ask the hotel to send the link again. Message frequency varies with the reservations you make; there are no recurring or scheduled texts. Message and data rates may apply — your mobile plan’s standard rates for text messages. Cilicia never charges for a text.

Messages are delivered by the mobile carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages; if a payment link does not reach you, the hotel can send it again or take the payment another way.

05

How to stop, and how to get help

  • Reply STOP to any message (STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, STOPALL, REVOKE or OPTOUT all work). You get one final message confirming that you are unsubscribed, and nothing further from that number.
  • If you stop the texts before paying, the payment link from an earlier message keeps working until the hold ends, and you can always call the hotel to pay or rebook. Stopping the texts does not cancel your reservation.
  • Reply START, YES or UNSTOP to receive texts again.
  • Reply HELP or INFO for help, write to law@getcilicia.com, or call the hotel you booked with.

06

Your number and your consent

We do not share, sell, or provide your mobile phone number or your messaging consent data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your number and your opt-in are used only to send these messages: they reach our messaging provider, to deliver the text, and the hotel you booked with — nobody else.

How long the reservation record is kept and how to ask for it to be corrected or deleted is in the privacy policy. The terms of service cover the messages too.
